Welcome to SlowRead. By downloading, accessing, or using our app, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

1. About SlowRead

SlowRead is a mobile reading companion. It lets you track the books you read, organize them into libraries, shelves, and tags, and run focused reading sessions that can optionally block distracting apps using Apple's Screen Time controls. SlowRead is local-first: your library and reading data are stored on your device. The app is a personal organization and focus tool and does not guarantee any particular reading outcome. 2. Eligibility and user responsibility

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country) to use this app. If you are under the legal age in your country, you must have permission from a parent or legal guardian. You agree to use the app responsibly and only for lawful purposes.

3. Accounts

To use certain features, you may sign in with Apple or Google, providing basic personal information such as your name and email address. You may also use the app in Guest Mode with no account. You are responsible for keeping your account information accurate and secure.

4. Your content and local-first storage

The books, libraries, shelves, tags, notes, reading sessions, and any cover or spine photos you add are stored on your device. You retain ownership of your content. Because this data is stored locally, you are responsible for it — for example, it is removed if you delete the app, and we cannot recover it for you.

5. Focus sessions and app blocking

The focus feature uses Apple's Family Controls / Screen Time framework to block apps you choose during a reading session. You grant this permission yourself and can change or revoke it at any time in iOS Settings. The apps you select are managed by iOS on your device; SlowRead does not receive the list. App blocking depends on iOS and is provided on a best-effort basis; it is not a guaranteed or tamper-proof restriction.

6. Book search and third-party data

When you search for books, your query is sent to third-party book databases (Google Books, Open Library, NeoDB) to return titles, covers, and details. That information is supplied by those services, may be incomplete or inaccurate, and is subject to their respective terms.

7. Subscriptions and payments

SlowRead offers core features for free and a premium subscription, SlowRead Pro, which unlocks the distraction-blocking focus feature.

• Subscriptions are billed through your Apple App Store account.
• Payment is charged at confirmation of purchase.
• Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• You can manage and cancel subscriptions in your device's Settings > Apple Account > Subscriptions.

All purchases are processed by Apple. Refund requests must be directed to Apple through their standard refund process.

8. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Violate any laws or regulations;
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, tamper with, or disrupt the app;
• Use the app to infringe the rights of others;
• Use the app for commercial purposes without our permission.

9. Disclaimer

SlowRead is provided "as is" and "as available" for personal use. The app:

• May display book information from third parties that is inaccurate or incomplete;
• Does not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free operation, or that app blocking will prevent all access to other apps;
• Is not a substitute for professional advice of any kind.

Use of the app is at your own risk.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for any damages or losses arising from your use of the app, including data loss, inaccurate book information, or the behavior of the Screen Time / app-blocking feature.

11. Intellectual property

All content, technology, branding, and features in SlowRead are protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, distribute, modify, or create derivative works without written permission. Book metadata and covers belong to their respective owners and providers.

12. Updates and changes

We may update the app or these Terms at any time. Updated Terms will be posted with a revised effective date. Continued use of the app means acceptance of the updated Terms.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Spain, and any disputes will be resolved in the Spanish courts.
